Die EVO ICL
Die EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) von Staar Surgical ist eine phake intraokulare Linse, die zur Korrektur von Myopie, Hyperopie und Astigmatismus eingesetzt wird. Sie ist besonders geeignet für Patienten, die nicht für eine Laser-Augenchirurgie wie LASIK in Frage kommen, beispielsweise aufgrund von dünnen Hornhäuten oder hohen Fehlsichtigkeiten. Die Linse besteht aus Collamer, einem biokompatiblen Material, das mit Kollagen verwandt ist und sich durch hohe Verträglichkeit und UV-Schutz auszeichnet. Die Technologie ermöglicht eine reversible und anpassbare Sehkraftkorrektur, ohne die natürliche Hornhautstruktur zu verändern.

Neuartige maßgefertigte AC-IOL bei Aphakie - Fallberichte
Bei Vorderkammerlinsen (AC-IOL) gab es seit den 1980er Jahren keine nennenswerten Innovationen. Die primäre Option war eine starre PMMA-Linse (Kelman Multiflex 2, Alcon Fort Worth, USA), die durch einen 5,0 mm Zugang implantiert werden konnte. In diesem Bericht wird eine neuartige maßgefertigte AC-IOL für die Behandlung von Aphakie-Fällen vorgestellt, die verbesserte Optionen bietet.

Cataract surgery - cause of the disease and surgical procedures for treatment
A cataract is an eye disease in which the lens becomes cloudy, resulting in long-term visual impairment. This clouding is caused by the accumulation of dead cells and proteins in the lens, which should normally be clear. The development of a cataract can be influenced by various factors such as age, genetic predisposition, diabetes, smoking, UV radiation and certain medications.

Refractive Surgery in Children
In this lecture in Florence, Italy, Dr Kermani talks about refractive surgery in children. There is currently no scientific basis for performing treatments on minors. However, it would be desirable to work on the results of treatment. For this reason, Dr Kermani conducted a survey among refractive surgery colleagues. The aim was to find out how often children and adolescents receive refractive surgery treatment, which operations are performed and what the treatment results are.

Awards
IOL platform
The video addresses aphakia correction in pseudophakia and presbyopia correction in phakic eyes. This method is already being implemented clinically for use in aphasia. For this purpose, IOLs are used both as prescription lenses and as single-unit production.
